Alternative treatment for Conjunctivitis
Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, the thin transparent membrane covering the front of the eye. Conjunctivitis is very common type of eye trouble which is also known as sore eyes. Conjunctivitis can easily spreads from person to person through direct contract.
Symptoms of conjunctivitis
- Inflammation of eyelids.
- Red, dry and burning eyes.
- Pus formation during sleep.
- Increased sensitivity to light.
- Blurred vision.
Causes of conjunctivitis
- According to medical science - bacterial infection, viruses or eye-strain.
- Prolonged work under artificial light and excessive use of the eyes in one way or the other no doubt contributes towards the disease.
Alternative treatment for conjunctivitis
- Alternative treatment for conjunctivitis starts by adopting an exclusive fresh fruit diet for about 7 days. The diet may consist of fresh juicy fruits in season such as apple, orange, pears, grapes, pineapple and grapefruit. But, try to avoid Banana.
- In case of serious trouble, put yourself on a juice fast for at least 3 to 4 days. Drink the juice of an orange, in a glass of warm water, if desired, every 2 hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nothing else should be taken as otherwise the value of the fast will be lost. You can also use carrot juice.
After completing your juice fast, adopt an all-fruit diet for further 7 days by following a diet schedule listed below:
Breakfast: fresh fruits.
Lunch: Raw vegetable salad.
Dinner: Two or three steamed vegetables, other than potatoes, with nuts and fresh fruit.
- Try to avoid starchy, sugary foods such as potatoes, pies, sugar, pastry, refined cereals, puddings, jams etc.
- The patient should avoid an excessive intake of starchy and sugary foods in the form of white
- Also, try to avoid excessive meat intake, strong tea, coffee, protein and fatty foods.
- An effective alternative treatment for conjunctivitis is 300ml. of carrot juice mixed with 200 ml. of spinach juice.
Vitamin A rich foods:
- Carrot.
- Whole milk.
- Curd.
- Pumpkin.
- Mangoes.
- Papaya.
- Tomatoes.
Vitamin B2 rich foods:
- Green leafy vegetables.
- Almonds.
- Citrus fruits.
- Milk.
Fold a small hand towel. Saturate it with cold water. Squeeze out excess water and mould toweling gently over both eyes. Cover it with a piece of warm cloth to retain the temperature. Repeat the process as soon as the foment gets warmed. Carry out the procedure for one hour. After terminating the wet pack, treatment cover the eyes with a dry towel. Lie back and relax.
The damaged eye tissues will quickly return to normal. The treatment should be repeated every night for a week, even though the problem may clear up with the first treatment itself.
