Alternative treatment for Sinusitis


There are many people around the world suffering from sinusitis. The term Sinusitis refers to an inflammation of the mucous membrane lining the paranasal sinuses. If often follows the common cold, influenza and other general infections. Germs which are usually eliminated from body sometimes find their way into these sinuses or chambers on either side of the nasal passage, leading to sinus problem.

Symptoms of sinusitis:

Some common symptoms of sinusitis are:

- Running nose.

- Excessive sneezing.

- Nostrils blockage.

- Headache.

- Feeing of pressure around the head, eyes and face.

- Low grade fever.

- Poor appetite.

- Toothache.

- Difficulty in breathing


Causes of sinusitis:


- Allergies trigger inflammation that may block your sinuses

- Dental infection.

- Respiratory infection such as a cold or flu

- Cystic fibrosis, gastroesophageal reflux disease.

- Weakened immune system

- Smoking or exposure to air pollution


According to the alternative treatment, sinusitis problem is caused by a faulty diet which results in toxic build up in the body. As a result, some persons become more sensitive to certain allergens, whose reaction ultimately turns into sinusitis.


Alternative treatment for sinusitis:

- The first and the most important step of sinusitis alternative treatment is the correction of the faulty diet.

- If you are suffering from sinusitis then try to you’re your diet menu healthy and well balanced.

- Eliminate salt from your diet.

- In serious cases, try to eliminate all types of solid foods and put yourself on juice fasting and only drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices diluted with water on a 50 : 50 basis.

- After fever subsides, try to adopt a low-calorie raw fruit and vegetable diet with plenty of raw juices.

- Now, its time to make a healthy balanced diet menu. Try to include seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits in to your diet menu.

- Try to avoid all types of starchy foods, white sugar, white flour, candies, chocolates, rice, macaroni products, meat, and spices.

- All kinds of fruits can be taken with the exception of those belonging to citrus group such as lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit.

- Eat vitamin A rich diet as, vitamin A helps prevent cold and sinus trouble. Some good sources of vitamin A are curd, egg yolk, carrot, papaya, tomato, mango, green leafy vegetables, pumpkins and whole milk.

- Vitamin C has also proved beneficial in the alternative treatment for sinusitis and the patient should take one gram of this vitamin per day in two therapeutic doses of 500 mg. each.

- Some herbs like garlic and onion are very beneficial in the alternative treatment of sinusitis. Eat them as it is or add them in to your food while cooking.

- Make a juice recipe by mixing 100 ml. each of beet and cucumber juice or 200 ml. of spinach juice + 300 ml. of carrot juice.


Water as an alternative treatment for sinusitis:

- Alternate application of hot and cold water is highly beneficial in sinusitis treatment. Take pans of hot and cold water, bathe the whole face with hot water as hot as you can bear  and then apply cold water for short duration.

- Nasal inhalation of steam for five minutes every hour will also give relief.


Yoga as an alternative treatment for sinusitis:



Practice

Yogasanas: Yogamudra, shavasana, viparitkarani, and bhujangasana

Yogic kriyas: Jalneti and sutraneti.

Pranayamas: Anuloma-viloa and suryabhedan will be beneficial in the treatment of sinus trouble.

Avoid perfumes, deodorants and strongly scented hair oils.

Plenty of sleep, adequate rest and fresh air are essential in the treatment of sinus trouble.
