Alternative treatment for Indigestion


Indigestion also known as dyspepsia is a common ailment which is caused by dietetic errors in which digestive juices are incorrectly secreted, resulting in discomfort.

Symptoms of indigestion:


- Abdominal pain.

- Feeling of fullness.

- Loss of appetite.

- Vomiting.

- Nausea.

- Coated tongue.

- Bad breath.



Causes of indigestion:



- Overeating.

- Bad eating habits.

- Stress.

- Fried foods and spicy foods.

- Drinking water with meals.

- Insomnia.

- Emotions such as jealousy fear and anger.

- Lack of exercise.


Alternative treatment for indigestion:



- The best alternative treatment for indigestion is cleansing of digestive tract with a sensible diet plan and a change in the style of living.

- In order to treat indigestion try to adopt an all-fruit diet menu for about five days.

- After completing your all diet fruit regimen gradually embark upon light diet or easily digestible foods such as cooked vegetables, juicy fruits, and buttermilk for about 10 days.

- After completing your light food diet regimen thereafter gradually embark upon a well-balanced diet. The use of fruits in general is beneficial in the treatment of indigestion. They flush out the undigested food reside and accumulated faeces and re-establish health to perfect order.

- Avoid eating and drinking together.

Yogic kriyas: Jalneti and kunjal.



Pranayamas: kapalbhati, anuloma-viloma, and ujjai.


Water as an alternative treatment for indigestion:



A daily enema should be administered to cleanse toxic bowel waste. Other beneficial water treatments include wet girdle pack applied at night, application of ice bags over the stomach half an hour after meals, a daily cold friction bath and alternate hot and cold hip baths at night.
