Alternative treatment for arthritis

Arthritis is a chronic inflammation of joints, The word arthritis is derived from the Greek word athron = joints inflammation.

Arthritis is well known for joints deformation leaving the patient handicapped and somewhat weakened.

Osteroarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are the two most common forms of arthritis.

Oesteroarthritis

- Common in older age.

- Symptoms include pain, dry neck, watery eyes, allergies, leg cramps, arterisclerosis, impairment in the functioning of the gall-bladder and liver disturbances.

- Causes of oesteroarthritis are physical stress, obesity, malnutrition, deficiency of hydrochloric acid, calcium deficiency etc.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

- Rheumatoid arthritis is well known for affection joints along with hips, fingers, wrist, feet, tendons, muscles or any other body part or tissue.

- Also known as cooked food disease and it occurs due to an inflammatory process of the lining of the joints accompanied by swelling and eventual deformity.

- Symptoms include gall bladder disturbance, constipation, hypotension or low blood pressure, anaemia, colitis, deformed hands and feet.

Causes of rheumatoid arthritis are physical stress, emotional stress, shock or injury, hormonal imbalance etc.


Alternative Treatment for arthritis

- Add fresh fruits and vegetables in to your diet menu.

- Arthritis patient diet should be planned along alkaline lines.

- Try to eat plenty of raw vegetables such as carrot, lettuce, cucumber, endive, radish, tomato, and watercress in the form of a salad

- Try to eat at least two cooked vegetables such beets, mushroom, peas, spinach, tomatoes, squash, brinjal, mushroom, tomatoes and turnips.

- If your arthritic condition is severe cases, then try to start juice fasting with juices of green leafy vegetables mixed with carrot, celery and red beet juice.

- These raw juices are rich in their alkaline properties and are capable of dissolving the accumulation of deposits around the joints and in other tissues.

- Fresh pineapple is also beneficial in arthritis treatment as, pineapple consist bromelain enzyme which is beneficial in reducing swelling and inflammation.

- Try to repeat juice fasting at every 2 months period.

- Another alternative treatment for arthritis is raw potato juice therapy. It has been used in folk medicine for centuries.

- In order to prepare potato juice – cut the potato in slices without peeling the skin and place them overnight in a large glass filled with cold water. The water should be drunk in the morning on an empty stomach.

- You can also drink potatoes juice mixed with water in 50-50 ratio.

- For preventing joints pain, use overnight water soaked gingerly seeds, as an effective remedy.

- Keep some water in a copper container at night and drink this copper treated water in the morning. Copper treated water is rich in copper and copper helps strengthen the muscular system.

- For the same reason wearing a copper ring or bracelet will also help.

- In case of achy or stiff joints massage your joints with coconut oil or mustard oil, mixed with camphor.

- Bathing in the sea (sea bathing) is also helpful alternative treatment for arthritis. ( Natural iodine helps maintain acid alkaline balance) if you want you can also use sea salt in a bathing tub.

- Drink lime water as citric acid helps dissolve uric acid crystals.

- Another pain relieving remedy is the soup of green-gram + crushed garlic cloves + teaspoonful of powdered fenugreek seeds in warm water taken everyday.

- Try to choose light exercises like walking, hiking and swimming.

- Tru to maintain your weight and stress.

Yoga as an alternative treatment for arthritis:


Useful yoga asanas: bhujangasana, trikonasana, shalbhasana. Vakrasana and shavasanas. Try to practive 3 asanas daily.



Useful yog kriyas: jalneti and kapalbhati



Useful pranayamas : anulomaviloma, ujjai and bhrameri.
